The Brand
The Philippine Allstars was started in 2005 by twelve friends who came from different backgrounds, but wanted to collectively represent their country in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships held in the US. In 2006, Allstars put the Philippines on the map of Hip-hop dance in becoming the first Asian country to win back-to-back World Gold titles in the International Hip-hop Open d'Italia in Turin, Italy and in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships in Los Angeles, California. In 2007, they won Team of the Year from V.Ent's First Annual Dance Awards. In 2008, the group took Gold again in the World Hip-Hop Dance Championships held in Las Vegas, Nevada. And, in 2009, they placed 2nd at the UDO International Invitational Championships in Blackpool, UK and bagged another First place trophy at the Malta Guiness Street Dance 2009 Competition in Kenya, Africa.Past the medals and awards, this group stands for much more than winning. To them, victories are only a device for them to get seen, heard, and accomplish their true goals.
They want to show that dancing is a great art form and should be more respected and rewarded than what is currently being offered by the entertainment industry. They share in a movement that strives to unite and inspire this generation through Faith, Hip-hop, and One Love. Secondly, the group wants to show the world what Filipinos are made of. That anyone can achieve international recognition no matter where you're from. Lastly, a goal of the group is to teach and help under-privileged kids through performing and encouraging them to strive for something more than what they have been told they can achieve. The group has been featured in many events, concerts, tours, TV guestings, commercials, music videos, films, print ads, and charities.
Currently, the Philippine Allstars consists of the following members: Kenjhons Serrano, Lema Diaz, Sheena Vera Cruz, Laurence Chua, Patrick Caballa, Kyxz Mendiola, Michelle Salazar, Jeremiah Carandang, Chelo Aestrid, Deo Bantillo, Patrick Romero, Joshua Barlis, and Arnel Serrano.
But this group's favorite saying is: "In God's eyes, we are ALL..STARS". One UP ya'll!
